Bushnell Voyager Telescope 78-9565 60mm
The 60mm Bushnell Voyager telescope is a refractor scope which means
a lens is used to gather light rather than a mirror. Voyagers viewing system
includes a mirror in the eyepiece which allows you to view the image
correctly. If not the image would appear upside down and reversed.
The Bushnell Voyager telescope 78-9565 model has a 750mm focal length
which is related to magnification. Three eyepieces come with the Voyage,
(8mm, 12.5mm, and 20mm). If you divide the foval length of the telescope
750mm by the focal length of the eyepiece 20mm you get the magnification
38x. The wholesale Bushnell deluxe 525x3" reflector telescope is good for amateurs just like the Voyager.
For fine, precise adjustment the Bushnell Voyager telescope is equipped
with an equatorial mount and has worm gears. There is also a counterbalance
that increases smooth movement. At higher magnifications this is important.
To line up the object you want to view there is a finder scope mounted on
the barrel. This is a wide field magnifying scope with crosshairs. The
finderscope makes finding objects in the sky easier, especially for
beginners.
