Celestron 8 Telescope
The Celestron 8 is easy to carry to your favorite observing location.
The complete optical tube assembly with attached fork mount and drive weigh
in at just 28 pounds. Plus if you add an integrated wedge and fixed height
field tripod the total weight is just 37 pounds. An average adult can lift
the complete telescope and wedge pad from the ground with one hand, and so
can you.
The Celestron 8 telescope has a light gathering power of more than 635 times the
power of the human eye. Using a clear magnification capability of up to 450
to 480 times, you'll be able to observe faint deep sky objects, as well as
the rings of Saturn, Jupiter's primary cloud belts, and the Moonlike phases
of Mercury and Venus. You can look deep into space as well with the Celestron C5+ telescope review.
The Celestron 8 enables you to find an object and accurately center it.
It does this by using a "clock drive" tracking system, these drives rotate
the telescope once every 24 hours. When this is set up, the system will take
into account the motion of celestial objects across the sky as the Earth
rotates.
The Celestron 8 telescope can be used in conjunction with the Celestron
Advanced Astro Master. This database system contains over 10,000 objects.
Once you choose the object you want to view, it will guide you to any one of
these objects. There is no leveling, longitude, or time input needed, only a
simple two star alignment method.
The Celestron 8 is a very light weight affordable telescope with a focal
length of 2023mm. It provides the same high quality observations as its more
advanced Celestron brothers. You'll be able to set up quick and begin
observing right away.
