Celestron Firstscope 76EQ Reflector Telescope
The Celestron Firstscope 76EQ reflector telescope makes it easy for
you to locate and track your favorite objects. The 76EQ accomplishes this
because it uses a German equatorial mount with setting circles and slow
motion controls on both the right ascension R.A. and declination DEC axes. The Celestron FirstScope 80 EQ also is equipped with an equatorial mount, and is slightly bigger.
The reason why an equatorial mount is used is as the earth rotates on its
axis, stationary celestial objects will appear to move across the sky. Over
time, the object your observing will drift out of view of both axes because
of the earth's rotation. The Celestron Firstscope's 76EQ equatorial mount
will follow the object your viewing across the sky and keep it in your field
of view.
The Celestron Firstscope 76EQ reflector telescope enables you to see
detailed images of the Moon, the belts of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and
deep space objects, like nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies, due to its
superior optics.
