Meade ETX 70AT Telescope
The Meade ETX 70AT has become famous for its revolutionary Autostar
hand controller. Using the Autostar hand controller, you can locate more
than 1,400 celestial objects. Choose the object you want to view, and
enter it into Autostar display, then press GO TO. Within seconds your
telescope will place the object in your field of view.
The Meade
Meade ETX 70AT
combines world-class optics and features allowing you
to observe all the major planets except Pluto. These observations include,
the Moonlike phases of Mercury and Venus, Saturn and its ring system, Mars
and its prominent features, Jupiter and its major cloud belts, the four
major Jovian satellites and much more. The Meade ETX 125PE Astro Telescope Premiere Edition is a larger model while still providing the same benefits.
The Meade Autostar database for the ETX 70AT includes the entire range of
celestial phenomena. The database listing offers a great introduction to the
variety of astronomical objects viewed through the ETX 70AT. Autostar also
allows pushbutton centering of images within the telescopic field at any of
nine selectable speeds. After Autostar locates an object it tells the
telescope to automatically track the object across the sky, taking into
account completely and accurately the effects of the Earth's axial rotation,
pretty amazing.
The Meade ETX 70AT is equipped with accurate worm gear systems on each
axis that allows smooth pushbutton motions of the telescope. This is very
important, especially when viewing deep space objects.
The
Meade ETX 70AT
is easy to carry to any location for viewing the sky.
Astronomers of any age can get started easily. Just place the telescope on
any flat surface, do a fast 60 second alignment of the telescope computer to
the sky and begin viewing.
