Meade LX90 8 inch Schmidt Cassegrain
The Meade LX90 8 inch Schmidt Cassegrain has ultra precise pointing
accuracy. It automatically levels your telescope, sets it to true
North and sets the time. You just enter your zip code or location. Then the
patented Level North automatic alignment procedure begins, after the LX90
will point to the first alignment star.
The Meade LX90 is a high resolution visual observing instrument which is
also qualified for more advanced areas of astronomy, including long exposure CCD-imaging and astrophotography. For tracking celestial objects as well as
accurate guiding corrections during long exposure imaging, the LX90 has worm
gears of 4.9" diameter on both telescope axes for sidereal-rate tracking. Also offering high performance is the Meade Polaris 114mm reflector telescope.
The Meade LX90 comes with a Super Plossl 26mm eyepiece. By dividing the
focal length of the eyepiece (26mm) into the focal length of the telescope
(2000mm) the power of this eyepiece is 77 times. The LX90 is loaded using
C-cell batteries through the upper surface of the telescope's drive base.
Its powered at 12 volts DC. You can also power it simply from an automobile
cigarette lighter plug.
