Meade Telescope LX6 Reviewed
Meade telescope lx6, also known as lx6/2120 10 inch F6.3 SCT was sold prior to 1990 and at that time was the top of the model choices. Some of the features of the Meade telescope lx6 are still found today on the Meade LX200 series telescopes - that's how good they were. Read other LX Meade telescope product reviews.
The Meade lx6 was considered a luxury model, a top end version of the standard SCT, available in either eight or ten inch.
The Meade sky telescope lx6 10-inch model had many fine accessories we should mention. Its Beefier Wedge (though not at the top of the range) had a 9x60 finder scope that illuminated and featured rings for polar alignment, hand controls, and a trip with compass and bubble style level that was adjustable. The Meade telescope lx6 also had a two-inch adapter, right angled, as well as an eyepiece that gave 25mm magnification.
Although not included standard with the Meade lx6 telescope, there were some accessories available for purchase. You could add, for example, digital circles that had both ra and dec readout as part of the hand control. You could also add a focus motor and a motor for declination.
One of the main features of the Meade telescope lx6 was its command center, electronic and controlled by a microprocessor. Not the greatest of tools, however, if you weren't using a digital readout, though, because all you could really do with it is quickly reverse with the ra drive. This was helpful if you found your slew turning east. It would then resume the drives quickly.
