The Orion Pro 8 features hand crafted optics, 8 inches in diameter and made in the United States by the Celstron Corporation. Its high-end multicoating performers are StarBright XLT models.

Its f/10 focal length is 2032 mm, which gives off ample power if an astronomer wants to use high magnification to study the moon, the planets and other far away celestial phenomena. The Pro 8 telescope has a well-endowed aperture that provides the opportunity to view as well as photograph very distant and very faint galaxies and nebulae.

This Orion Pro 8 night telescope offers an equatorial mount that is sturdy, dubbed the SkyView Pro. It has a tripod with steel legs and worm gears all the way around.

It also has huge setting circles - 86mm in diameter -, which make stargazing coordinates a snap. The Orion Pro 8 also comes equipped with a two slow motion manual controls. It will also accept an optional electronic drive called TrueTrack Accessories that come standard with the Pro 8 telescope are a 26 mm eyepiece, top-quality Orion Sirius Plossl eyepieces, a star diagonal, and a finder scope that is an upgraded 8x40. (Most finderscopes are 6x30.)
