Questar Standard 3.5 Telescope
The Questar Standard 3.5 telescope allows you to observe through
three magnifications, and toggle back and forth between them without you
ever moving away from the eyepiece. This is achieved using the Questar
Control Box which is designed to provide reliable convenience and safety.
The Questar Control Box for the Standard 3.5 telescope is located at the
rear of the telescope and provides two imaging ports, with linkages and
control levers which offer fast knob selection. This organization results in
three magnification changes per eyepiece.
The three types of magnifications the Standard Questar 3.5 telescope
provides is an Internal Finder of 100mm, magnification = 100 divided by
focal length of eyepiece. Low magnification at prime focus, magnification =
1280 divided by focal length of eyepiece, and high magnification, which
provides about 2x magnification when viewing through telescope.
For precise tracking of celestial objects the Questar Standard 3.5
telescope has an equatorial Fork Mount. Both of its axes has a manual
friction drive control. The Right Ascension R.A. has a slip clutch which
prevents a manual override of the tracking motor. There is a R.A. setting
circle and a DEC circle with declination motion variable clutch lock. The
drive provides very smooth tracking.
Described as the finest compact personal telescope in the world the
Questar Standard 3.5 telescope is American made and offers convenience,
designed at high industrial levels of durability and performance.
