Vixen ED103SWT Telescope
The Vixen ED103SWT OTA SX-Trim
APO Telescope 2609 is a serious apochromatic refractor - meaning it gives
much better correction of chromatic and spherical aberration than does the
standard refractor lens. Given the price of this model (around 2100 dollars,
after discounts), this is a highly-appreciated feature. It's also a serious
telescope for serious planetary viewing.
Additionally, and this is really nice, considering its relative size, it can
go after the brighter deep sky objects that many telescopes in this price
range are incapable of finding. It also can be easily set up and will allow
for taking it along on many a trip due to its size. It should be said that
the Vixen ED103SWT OTA-SX trim APO telescope doesn't come with a mount.
This Vixen is able to offer better chromatic correction and practical
elimination of spherical aberration because of extra-low dispersion glass in
its lens. This reduces aberration to almost invisible levels, which is an
extremely strong point in its favor, as it allows for better resolution and
excellent color at any level of magnification which its user may dial in.
Another fine feature of the Vixen ED103SWT telescope is that viewing is
available either straight forward or at a 90 degree angle that's made
possible by the supplied flip mirror system. It also comes with a 7x50
finder and a handy carry handle in addition to a dovetail tube plate that
allows for easy mounting onto a good tripod mount.
Given its price tag - which is quite reasonable for a model with so many
features - the ED103SWT OTA SX-Trim Vixen telescope delivers quite a lot of
nighttime star gazing and crystal clear viewing with little to no
aberration. It can be set up fairly easily and it can also travel just as
easily. All in all, it's a top-performing telescope that's sure to please
even the most exacting amateur astronomer.
